For the second time in two weeks, the Voodoos are bringing back a player that has previously worn the Voodoos green and gold.

Last week it was Eric Mondoux, this week it's Parker Bowman.

Bowman, who was named the NOJHL playoff MVP for the Voodoos in the Voodoos 2017 championship year, is returning to the Voodoos this fall after spending the past two seasons with the QMJHL's Rimouski Oceanic.

The 20-year-old forward from Bracebridge says he is returning to Powassan because it feels right.

"It feels like coming home," said Bowman.

"Powassan helped me achieve my goal of playing major junior hockey level and I could not have done it without the help of the Voodoos organization.  Powassan does a great job of setting their players up for success."

Bowman netted four goals and 11 assists for 15 points in 65 games with Rimouski last year.

"My goals are to help create an atmosphere to win, to have teammates that have a total commitment to the direction the Voodoos are going and achieve more than the 2016-17 team did," said Bowman about the Voodoos team that fell 2-1 in the Dudley-Hewitt Cup semi-final that season against the Georgetown Raiders.

Voodoos GM Chris Dawson is thrilled to see Bowman back.

"Parker is just another key piece we have added to the Voodoos roster," noted Dawson.

"His attitude is infectious and that will be as important to our team as the point totals he puts up.  We have to give credit to associate GM Brent Tomlinson for his leg work through this process, it proves again that we have a great hockey operations team."

The Voodoos open training camp on Friday morning in Powassan and will be hosting their first and only exhibition game on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Powassan Sportsplex as they host the Rayside-Balfour Canadiens.
