The Powassan Voodoos have added forward Ty Nicholson from the Westport Rideaus of the CCHL2, the club announced on Monday.

Nicholson, who attended the Voodoos spring camp at Memorial Gardens, is coming off a pair of 20-goal seasons in the CCHL2 based in the Ottawa region.

“I'm very excited to become a Voodoo,” stated Nicholson.

“It's an amazing opportunity for me to play for such a respected organization with a winning attitude.  I cannot wait to get things started this fall.”

Chris Dawson, Voodoos GM, says the Smith Falls, Ontario product impressed at the Voodoos camp.

“Ty definitely stood out at our camp,” noted Dawson.

“He’s only 18 and the fact he has averaged a point a game in junior B is a clear indication he is ready to make an impact with the Voodoos this coming season.”

Nicholson will join the Voodoos on August 23rd for the opening of main camp.
