Clark Allair, who played on the NOJHL's Elliot Lake Wildcats last year, has joined the Voodoos prior to the Jr 'A' trade deadline which is January 10th.

The Powassan Voodoos have added a defenceman with some local ties only days before the January 10th trade deadline.

The Voodoos acquired Clark Allair on the weekend from the Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL for a development fee.

The 6'2", 190 pound defender netted two goals and 12 assists totaling 14 points in 29 games with the Legionnaires so far this season.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to play close to home and look forward to helping the club to continued success in the second half of the season," said the 18-year-old defender.

Voodoos GM Chris Dawson believes Allair, who had 29 points as a rookie with the Elliot Lake Wildcats of the NOJHL last season, will help bolster the Voodoos blueline.

"Clark is an offensive defenceman who plays with an edge and can contribute to our power play as well," stated Dawson.

Clark Allair, whose cousin Eric Allair is the Voodoos captain, joined the team for practice on Sunday night. He is expected to be in the lineup Friday night when the Voodoos host the visiting Hearst Lumberjacks.

Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Powassan Sportsplex.
