The North Bay U18 AAA scored five times in the first period and went on for a 7-2 win over the Sudbury U18 AAA Great North U18 semifinals taking place in Sault Ste. Marie this weekend.

Anthony Boyes had a pair of first period tallies for the determined Trappers. Nate Gravelle had one goal and two assists while Caleb Dawson had one goal and one assist in the win.  Heath Bradley, Cayden Kowal, and Joshua Currie rounded out the scoring for the Trappers who are 4-0 in the league playoff tournament.

Battalion prospect Mike McIvor made a number of key saves early in the third period when the Trappers had to kill nearly a full two-minute 5-on-3 power play.

The Trappers will play the winner of Saturday's other semifinal between the Kapuskasing Flyers and the host Soo U18 Greyhounds.

Sunday's final takes place at 12:30 p.m. in the Soo.
