Noah Kozmick supplied two goals and two assists including the game winner in the latter stages of the game in a 5-4 North Bay U16 AAA Trappers victory over the Sudbury U16 Nickel Capitals at Countryside Arena in Sudbury on Wednesday night.

It may be a little overdone saying the U16 Trappers' victory was an upset of "Kozmick proportions" but nonetheless a huge win and a big confidence booster for the U16 Trappers who sit in last place in the Great North U18 League with a record of 4-19-2-1, while their Sudbury U16 counterparts are battling to remain in fifth spot (10-16-0-1) in the final week of regular season play.

Underage defenceman Sam Rivet also supplied a pair of goals with a single going to Braeden Estabrooks.

However, the big story of the game was the play of Trappers goaltender Jackson Curran who stopped more than 40 shots to keep his team in the contest.  Curran is hoping to have a strong finish as he hopes to be selected for Team NOHA for the OHL Cup coming up in April and get selected in the OHL Priority Selection this spring.

The U16 Trappers are back on the ice Friday night as they tackle the U18 AAA Trappers, who sit in second spot in the Great North U18 Standings with a 20-7 record at the Sturgeon Falls Arena.

All eight teams will assemble next week in Sault Ste. Marie for the Tournament of Champions which begins on Thursday, March 16.
