On Saturday night the Hounds had no bus legs as they came out strong and defeated the Trappers 5-1. Two late second period goals less than 3 minutes apart by Noah Aboflan and Cole Cond helped the Soo pull away for the win. Aboflan finished with three goals while Anthony Blonda added a single tally.
Marshall McCharles had the lone goal for the Trappers.
However, it was a very different game on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Gardens as Michael Purkhart shut down the Hounds offence en route to a 3-0 shutout.
Mason Brownlee and Jesse Lefebvre scored in the first and second period respectively and Anthony Boyes secured the win with a late empty-net tally.
The Trappers move to 1-2-1 to start the Great North Midget League season while the Soo starts the season 1-1.
