The U13 Selects Girls soccer team from North Bay placed second on the weekend at the Peterborough Challenge Cup tournament over the weekend.

The Selects captured silver thanks to solid goaltending by Chloe McLean, multiple points put up by forwards Tia Tobes and Mia Jones, along with strong midfield play by Kate Pauli and great defence by Elle Raymond.

The U13 Selects opened the event with a 3-0 win over North Durham United.  In game two, the locals were humbled 5-0 at the hands of the Quints West Wolverines.

In their third contest, the Selects defeated the Strathroy United Dash 3-0 to set up a rematch with the Wolverines in the final.

However, in a much tighter affair, the Wolverines prevailed over the Selects 2-0.
