The NOHA Tournament of Champions is held in the month of March, and is the culminating tournament for NOHA teams.

This year, North Bay has been chosen to host the U11AA Championships with participating teams traveling from Sault Ste Marie, Sudbury and Timmins.

The DESCON Construction North Bay Trappers U11AA have been awarded with the prestige opportunity to host the NOHA Tournament of Champions in North Bay this upcoming weekend.

The Trappers U11AA team has had quite the season and looking forward to capping off their year with a victory this weekend as they have had much success throughout the year.

The team won gold at the Barrie Glenn Bellerby Memorial Tournament, Silver Stick Regionals as well as the presitgious Silver Stick International Finals and impressively went 4-1-0 at the Oshawa Challenge AAA Tourney, only losing to the eventual champion Markham Majors in the semi-finals.

The Trappers are hoping to “fill the barn” with support as the local squad takes on the Soo Jr. Greyhounds on Friday, March 24 at 5 p.m. at Pete Palangio arena.

The Soo Jr. Greyhounds are currently the #1 ranked team in Ontario, while the North Bay Trappers are the #2 ranked out of 80 AA Hockey teams in Ontario.

The Trappers were successful in their last game against the Greyhounds back in December and hope to continue that momentum against their rivals. Twiggs Coffee Roasters will also be on site at Pete Palangio Arena so you can get fresh roasted brewed coffee on site and also some delicious grab and go before and during every game.
