U-10 Blue Devils snare gold in Peterborough

The North Bay Youth Soccer Club Under-10 Blue Devils captured gold at the 2013 Peterborough U-10 boys Challenge Cup on the weekend.

The tournament included 11 teams in the age category from across the province.

The Blue Devils started with a 1-1 draw against Cavan and bounced back in game 2 with a convincing 8-0 win over the Cataraqui Clippers from Kingston.

In their 3rd match, the Blue Devils edged the Oakridge Thunder from London 2-1.

The Blue Devils claimed first in their pool thanks to a 6-0 win over the North Toronto Selects.

That sent the Blue Devils to the final where they doubled the Peterborough City Maroons 4-2 to take home the gold.

Team members include Ethan Martineau, Greg Mancari, Clarke Downey, Will Rivet, Tyler Mullan, Owen Mancari, Alec Bladwin, Cameron Lemcke and Carter Richmond.

The Blue Devils are coached by Mike Mancari, Scott Rivet, and Tom Martineau.
