Two Provincial meets events for CT33 Thunderbirds

Five members of the CT33 Thunderbird swim team competed at two provincial meets this past weekend.  

The 2019 Ontario Swimming Championships held at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is a Long Course Championship hosted by the Whitby Dolphin Swim Club. The event consisted of heats and finals for all age groups where all swimmers are permitted entry upon proof of achieving at least one 2018-2019 Ontario Swimming Championship Standard.

Evan Kilroy, 17, competed in four events which included the 100 metre, 200 m Breast as well as the 200m and the 400m Medley. Kilroy broke club record in the 400m Medley event which earned him fifth place in the finals.

Jenna Wall, 15, competed in three events earning fourth-place finishes in both the 100m and 200m Breast events.

Trael Daly Stevens, 16, competed in seven events earning an eighth-place finish in the 100m Free event.

Sam Denomme, 15, competed in three events earning a place in the finals for his performance in the 100m Breast event.

2019 Ontario Youth-Junior Championships, hosted by the Brantford Aquatic Club is a Long Course Championship held at the Wayne Gretzky Sports centre ins Brantford. 2018-2020 Ontario Youth Junior Championship Standards.

Jessie Hammond, 18 competed in two events earning a spot in the finals for his performance in the 100m Back event.

Trael Daly Stevens and Samuel Denomme continue to train for the 2019 RBC Canadian Junior Championships happening July 24th to 29th in Calgary, Alberta. Daly Stevens will be competing in the 100m Free and 200m Medley events while Denomme will be competing in the 100m Breast event.

North Bay coaches Pierre Simard, Penny Lecour, Hillar Lainevool said they were pleased with the results from the meets and the success and growth of all swimmers.
