Two losses for Lakers' hockey teams

Lakers women fall at home 3-2 while men drop a 5-1 decision on the road

The Nipissing Lakers varsity women's hockey team fell 3-2 at the hands of the Ryerson Rams on Saturday night.  

Victoria Quance and Malory Dominico had the goals.  Danika Ranger made 19 stops in the loss which drops the Lakers to 7-2 on the season.  

The Lakers remain at home for a pair of games next weekend when they host the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks Friday evening at 5 p.m. and the Queens Gaels Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Friday's game will be the annual Break The Ice on Mental Health event.

Both games will take place at Memorial Gardens.  

Meantime, the Lakers varsity men's hockey team fell 5-1 to the Ottawa Gee-Gees at the Minto Sports Complex in Ottawa Saturday night. Jacob Hickey had the lone goal for the Lakers. 

The Lakers men fall to 4-6-1-2 on the season good for seventh in the OUA East Division.
