Twin-wins for Huskies (new)

The North Bay Athletics were swept Saturday in two games played against the Onaping Falls Huskies in NOHA Bantam AAA action at the West Ferris Arena and the Pete Palangio Arena.

Assistant captain Alex Fiset scored two goals for the Huskies, and Broadie Czerkas scored had one goal and one assist, as the team defeated the Athletics 5-2 ijn morning action at West Ferris.

Stephan Gunner had two assists for the Athletics, with captain Joel Senecal and Mathew Papin scoring one goal each.

Matt Demore and Owen Peltier picked up the other markers for the Athletics.

The Huskies picked up 28 minutes in penalties, but the Athletics went two for 10 in power play opportunities.

Onaping Falls went one for three on the power play.

In the evening match-up at Pete Palangio, assistant captain Justin Hogan had two goals and an assist, Matt Demore tallied one goal and two helpers and captain Gilles Pickard had two assists as the Huskies downed the Athletics 6-4.

Athletics assistant captain Graham Loyst had one goal and one assist, Chris Hebert had a goal and an assist, and assistant captain Justin Brear had two assists.

The Athletics scored two powerplay goals, one by Loyst and the other by captain Joel Senecal.

With the losses the Athletics drop to one and 11, while the Huskies improve to seven and two.

Both teams meet at 11 a.m. today to complete the series.

The Athletics are then in action again Nov. 13 travelling to the Nickel City to play the Sudbury Lockerby Confectionary.
