The West Ferris Trojans senior boys soccer team hosted the Algonquin Barons last night in NDA action and the two teams played some exciting soccer. Algonquin took the early lead on a goal by Justin Fay, but the lead was short lived when Doug McRae scored to even things making the score 1-1 at the half.

Fay’s second goal of the game gave the Barons a 2-1 lead which they held until the final five minutes of the game, when Trojans striker Sandy Burke was pulled down inside the 18 yard box by the Baron’s keeper resulting in a penalty shot. McRae calmly placed his shot in the back of the net to knot the game at 2-2.

Adam Bignucolo of the Barons and Daniel Weber and Caleb Fricker of the Trojans played strong games in the midfield for their respective teams. Both keepers also made a number of huge saves to keep their teams in the game.
