Trappers tie Hawks

The North Bay Savignac Major Bantam AAA Trappers move to 2-1-1 at the Central Regional Major Midget Championships thanks to a 2-2 tie this afternoon against the Cambridge Hawks.  

After a scoreless opening period, Jesse Kirkby opened the scoring for the Trappers at 5:32 as they held a 1-0 lead after two periods of play. 

Ethan Masson made it 2-0 Trappers with an unassisted tally early in the third period.  

However, the Hawks stormed back with a pair of goals less than two minutes apart to salvage a tie.  

The Trappers sit in third spot in the seven team tournament with five points.  

The Toronto Marlboros sit on top with a 5-0 record.  

The Trappers will clash with the Marlies at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning.
