Trappers teams clash and both face the Cubs

Both AAA Trappers teams have 2-1 records

The North Bay & District Major Midget and Minor Midget AAA Trappers hockey teams were both in action on the weekend.  

The two teams that both play in the Great North Midget League, both played the New Liskeard Cubs on the weekend and then played each other in a Trappers vs Trappers game Saturday night in Powassan. 

On Friday, the Major Midget AAA Trappers faced the New Liskeard Cubs in their home opener.  

The Trappers scored four times in the second period en route to a 7-5 win over the Cubs.

Alex Little scored twice, with singles going to Ethan Masson, Eric Lafontaine, Clarke McMillan, Brody Belanger and Colin Burrell.  

On Saturday the Major Midgets won their second straight weekend game as they dumped the Minor Midget Trappers 4-1.  

Nathaniel Lalonde had two goals with singles going to Alex Little and Ethan Masson. 

Nico Laforge responded for the Minor Midget Trappers.  

The Minor Midget AAA Trappers pulled out a 4-3 win over the Cubs on Sunday afternoon in a home game that took place in Temiscaming, Quebec.   

The Trappers netted a pair of power-play markers courtesy Todd Violette and Ben Harris. 

Will Bourre and Nico Laforge had even-strength goals in the win.  

The two Trappers teams’ both share 2-1 records early in the Great North Midget League season.
