North Bay Jr. Trappers rookie forward Tait Seguin is one of two players chosen from the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League to represent the league at the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Propects games which take place this weekend in Nova Scotia.

Seguin joins T-Birds defenceman Fraser Turner on the 20-player roster named to the East side that will compete vs. a squad from the CJHL's five western leagues in a two-game, total goal series for the Presidents Cup Nov. 10-11 in Digby and Yarmouth, N.S.

Game No. 1 goes Saturday in Digby at 7 p.m. AT while the finale will be staged Sunday at the Mariners Centre in Yarmouth at 2 p.m. AT.

The 17-year-old Astorville, ON product has had a solid start to his rookie Jr. A campaign for the Trappers where he has picked up 11 points, including eight goals, in 17 games so far this season.

“It feels great to be recognized as top prospect in the CJHL,” admitted the 2011 6th round pick of the London Knights prior to practice Tuesday.

“I'm very excited to participate in this event and it will be a great opportunity to represent the Trappers and the NOJHL.”

Jr. Trappers head coach Tom McCarthy believes Seguin is deserving of the recognition.

“What a super opportunity for a young athlete and a very deserving one at that,” noted McCarthy.

“Tait exemplifies today's athlete with his work ethic his attitude and his passion to play the Game. He is the perfect representative for the North Bay Trappers and our Community as he's as good a person off the ice as is he is a true competitor on. I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to possibly influence his life and hopefully help in furthering his dreams as a hockey player.”

The Prospects Games is being held in conjunction with the 2012 World Junior A Challenge. It was created to showcase the top NHL draft eligible players in the CJHL.

Player selection was a joint initiative of the CJHL and NHL Central Scouting.
