They are one win away from a berth in the Telus Cup.

Jesse Kirkby and Zach Lefebvre had two goals each as the North Bay Major Midget AAA Trappers defeated the Clarington Toros 4-1 in the Central Region Major Midget AAA semi-finals which took place this afternoon in Bowmanville, Ontario.

The Trappers doubled the Toros 4-2 in the round robin portion of the event.

Reece Proulx stopped 23 shots in goal for the Trappers in the win.  Earlier in the day Proulx's goalie partner, Ben Gaudreau, was selected seventh overall in the OHL Priority Selection by the Sarnia Sting.

The win will set the stages what many expected would be the final as the Trappers will face the Toronto Young Nationals, who beat the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs 5-3 in the other semi-final.

The Trappers and Nats tied 1-1 in the opening game of the tournament on Monday.  Aside from the tie, the Trappers have two losses against the tough GTHL team this season.

Game time tomorrow is 3:15 p.m. tomorrow at the Garnet B. Rickard Rec Complex in Bowmanville.

The winner will represent the Central Region at the Telus Cup which takes place in Thunder Bay.  The Telus Cup starts on Monday, April 22nd.
