After finding the net 10 times in their 2-game sweep over the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, the Trappers struggled to find the back of the net as the Sudbury Nickel Barons upset the first place Trappers 2-1 at the McClelland Arena in Copper Cliff on Wednesday night.

Darcy Haines and Sebastien Leroux scored 2nd period goals to give the home side a 2-0 lead.

Tait Seguin scored a late goal in the final minute to close the gap at the 19:45 mark of the 3rd period.

"It's unacceptable to lose, there is no excuse," said Trappers disappointed forward Brandon Janke.

"It just shows how 2 missed assignments can change a game, we also have to get better shots. But we just have to get back to the grind tomorrow at practice, and focus on the next game against the Soo."

The Trappers, who were ranked 12th in the nation this week, drop to 20-4-3-3 on the season. They host the 2nd place Soo Thunderbirds Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at Memorial Gardens.
