Trappers late goal gives visitors key playoff win

Vescio nets game winner as Trappers can clinch a spot in the finals with a win Saturday night.

Payton Vescio scored a goal in the final minute of the third period to give the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers a huge 2-1 win over the Kapuskasing Flyers in Kapuskasing Friday night in game three of the Great North Midget League semi-finals.  

Samuel Bourdages opened the scoring with a second period tally at 2:08 of the middle frame. 

Ian Denomme netted his second of the series to even the score at 8:52 of the second period.  

The Trappers win gives them a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five Great North Midget League semi-final series.   

Joel Rainville made 28 saves in the win.  

Jake Gravelle contributed with two assists in the Trappers win.  

Game four of the series takes place at the Palace in Kapuskasing on Saturday night.
