Trappers edged by Flyers in shootout; Minor Trappers net first win

Jacob Comeau had the shootout winner as the Kapuskasing Flyers snuck out of North Bay with a 4-3 win over the North Bay Major Midget Trappers at Memorial Gardens on Saturday night.

Jacob Comeau had the shootout winner as the Kapuskasing Flyers snuck out of North Bay with a 4-3 win over the North Bay Major Midget Trappers at Memorial Gardens on Saturday night. 

Ryan Mills, Cole Craft and Hunter Foreshew scored for the Trappers in regulation as the Trappers battled back to get a point after being down 3-1 after two periods of play.  

The loss drops the Trappers record to 2-0-1 on the season. 

Meantime, on Sunday the Minor Midget AAA Trappers came up with a 6-3 win over the New Liskeard Cubs at the Powassan Sportsplex.  

Jack Stockfish and Ben Brunette had two goals each for the Minor Trappers.  Pacey Schleuting and David Campbell had the other goals for the Trappers who scored four times in the third en route to the win.  

It was the Minor Midget squad's first game in the Great North Midget League.
