Trappers blank Chiefs at Central Regionals

Trappers move to 1-0-1 at Central Regional Major Midget AAA Tournament

The North Bay & District Major Midget AAA Trappers defeated the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs 3-0 in game two at the Central Regional Major Midget AAA championships taking place in Clarington this week.  

Eric Lafontaine and Justin Dauphinais scored second period goals and Cole Goode added an empty netter to secure the victory. 

OHL draft prospect Ben Gaudreau made 30 saves in the shutout for the Trappers.  He was also credited with an assist on Goode's empty netter.

The Trappers opened the tournament with a 1-1 tie against the Toronto Young Nationals on Monday afternoon to start the tournament.

The Trappers are back on the ice Wednesday night as they take on the host Clarington Toros, who fell 4-2 in their opener to the Chiefs on Monday.  

Puck drop is set for 6:45 p.m.
