Trappers AAA Roundup - Regular season coming to a close

Major Bantam 

It was a busy week of action for the North Bay & District Major Bantam AAA Trappers who played four games during a busy week. 

Last Monday, the week started off with a 4-4 tie against the Nickel City Sons in Levac.  Aiden Lucier had two goals while singles went to Jacob Payeur and Minor Bantam AAA Trappers affiliate Zach Major.  

On Friday, the Trappers came away with a 3-1 win over the Sons.  Nolan Masson, Thomas Sefton and affiliate Mathieu Turgeon had the goals in the Valentine's Day victory. 

On Saturday, Aiden Lucier had two goals in a 3-3 tie against the Sault St. Marie Jr Greyhounds.  Tristan Beauchamp-Perry had the other goal.  

On Sunday, Cooper Brazeau had two goals in a 4-4 tie against the Hounds.  Kaedyn Long and Tristan Beauchamp-Perry had the other tallies. 

Minor Bantam 

The North Bay & District Hopper Buick/GMC Trappers finished off the regular season with a pair of wins at Memorial Gardens over the Soo Greyhounds. 

On Saturday night, the Trappers fell behind 4-2 but battled back for a convincing 8-4 win.  Zach Major and Anthony Boyes led the offence with two goals each while singles went to Jesse Lefebvre, Austin Odd, Mathieu Turgeon and affiliate player Ira Paibomsai. Mikey Purkhart got the victory in goal for the Trappers.  

On Sunday morning, the game was much closer as Jesse Lefebvre's second period power play goal was the difference-maker in a close 2-1 victory for the Trappers over the Hounds.  

Ira Paibomsai had the other Trappers goal while Justin Robinson got the win in goal for the Trappers. 

The two teams will meet up in the NOHLAAA Minor Bantam best-of-five semi-finals starting on Saturday at Memorial Gardens.  

Major Peewee 

The Major Peewee AAA Trappers had one tie and a loss in two games over the weekend.  

On Saturday, the Trappers built up a 2-0 lead only to see the Nickel City Sons battle back in a 3-3 draw.  Brant Romaniuk, Benjamin Graham and Owen Head had the goals. 

Later that day, the Trappers fell 6-3 to the Sons. Romaniuk had two goals in the setback while Cohen Paquette added a single.
