Titan swimmers open season (new)

The North Bay Titan Swim Team competed in its first swim meet of the year this past weekend at Laurentian University in Sudbury.

The meet was broken up into two segments, a pre-provincial and a developmental meet. Seventeen swimmers competed in the developmental side and 18 competed in the pre-provincial side.

Kristin Buchanan (10) set the standard in the developmental meet with four first places, a second and a third. Maleah Seguin (12) was close behind with three firsts, a second, third and fifth place finishes, while Shelby Twilt (12), Jacob Laframboise (14), and Ryan Quigley (11) all had two firsts.

Andrew Bell (11), Aron Craciun (11), Kelsey O’Connor (12), Mercedes Rousselle (12) and Brittany Roy (11) all competed in their first competitive swim meet for the Titans.

On the pre-provincial side, Brannyn Hale (18) and Dylan Staples(10) led the way with six first-place finishes each. Troy Tiller (10), who broke his foot a few days ago, competed one day and had two firsts and one second.

Jennifer Leckie (11) had a great meet with three firsts, three thirds and a fifth-place.

Scott Atkinson (13) and Scott Morawski (16) compete for the first time as Titans and each took home a first-place showing. Scott Morawski also qualified for the Ontario junior provincial championships in February in the 100 metre and 200 metre breaststroke.
