The North Bay Lakeview TimBr Mart under-17 girls made quite an impression at this summer's Schwan’s USA Cup at the National Sports Centre in Blaine, Minn.

Six team members received letters from various American universities regarding their future education.

The six, Kristi Palangio, Sarah Lutecki, Lindsay Kapitanchuk, Kaely Whillans, Jaiden Cote and Gillian Gass, are all going into Grade 12 this month.

"That's one of the reasons we travel to these types of tournaments," TimBr Mart head coach Dan Kapitanchuk said. "It gives the girls exposure. The letters are just a way of getting in touch with the girls regarding their education plans."

The club won four games in their pool division and lost out in double overtime in the quarterfinals.

This week, the team played against the Nipissing University Lakers women's team and split two exhibition games.
