Canada Day Festival comes to North Bay’s Downtown

July 1st and 2nd marks the official return of Hugo Girard and the Strongman Competition to North Bay.

As part of our Canada Day festivities at Wylders and The ZOO, Hugo Girard will be bringing the Ontario’s Strongest Man Competition to North Bay. This marks the rebirth of what we believe will be a long relationship between North Bay and the Strongman Competition circuit.

We are very pleased to have Hugo Girard returning to North Bay along with Kevin Reid to the Ontario’s Strongest Man. Kevin ran the Strongman Competitions with Hugo for the three years that they were hosted by the Heritage Festival. Having Kevin’s experience on board will ensure a great event.

This year’s event will have 20 athletes competing on day one with 12 of them advancing to the finals on day two competing in 6 events. The winner will be named Ontario’s Strongest Man and will advance to the Canadian Finals.

As mentioned earlier our Canada Day event will have lots for everyone. Not only are we hosting the Ontario’s Strongest Man Competition but there will also be a mixed Beach Volleyball Tournament on July 1 and 2 during the day. They will be competing for cash and prizes.

At night we will be hosting the biggest outdoor beach party North Bay has ever seen on Canada Day. Each evening the party will be kicked off at 9pm by the Miss Ontario Molson Canadian , Competition. After that, the night heats up with the evening being hosted by DJ Johnny Feedback, DJ Brace (the current Canadian DMC Champion) and MC’s Kenny Brewster and MC StatixXx.

Tickets are on sale now and are available for $6.00 per day or $10.00 for a two day pass. Children 10 and under are free. Tickets are available at Wylders.

We would like to thank 102FM The Fox, AM600 CKAT, Molson’s, Mack Trucks of Canada, All North Truck Centre, Pepsi, Clarion Resort-Pinewood Park, Blue Sky Region Realty Inc. Century 21, Rivet Insurance, Sandy Cove North, Stockfish Ford, Guy’s Tires, Gateway Signs and other sponsors who have come on board to assist in bringing this event to North Bay. Also, we would like to thank the D.I.A. and The City of North Bay for their assistance in clearing the way for this event to happen in the heart of the city.
