The Algonquin Barons continued their strong season on the track and in the field at the NOSSA track and field championships in Sudbury.

The Barons followed up last week’s NDA overall title by finishing 5th overall out of 33 schools, including a close 2nd place finish for the senior girls banner.

The Barons qualified 13 athletes for the provincial championships at York University next week.

NOSSA champions for Algonquin include :

Dominique Baldasaro – 1st – senior girls 400m hurdles, 4th senior girls 400m

Seth Veldhuis – 1st – midget boys 300m hurdles

Mélanie Levasseur – 1st – senior girls long jump

Grace Michauville – 1st – senior girls discus, 2nd senior girls shot put

Senior Girls 4 x 100m relay – 1st - Kelsey Bélanger, Dominique Baldasaro, Sophie Laperrière, Josée Rochon
