The North Bay Trappers are 2-1 in the Big Nickel hockey tournament.

They defeated Ann Arbor Jr. Wolverines 3-1 on goals by Josh Ranger, Kyle Willard and Josh McCully.

Martin Lauzon had two goals in a 4-3 win over Kitchener Jr. Rangers. Lance McMahon and Willard had the others.

Marc Senecal had the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Toronto Marlboros.

They play Greater Kingston Predators, at 3:30 p.m., this afternoon at the Tom Davies Community Centre in Walden

A tough defence in their own zone and an excellent passing game carried the Chippewa Raiders to 31-19 win over Widdifield Wildcats in NDA junior girls basketball.

Sam Loreto had 10 points for the winners and Melissa Merkley six.

Julia Knox had seven for the Wildcats and Jordanna Langill and Kristen Sheffield four each.
