Skyhawks still have a chance to move on

The Skyhawks were probably too exhausted to watch but the host Georgetown Raiders did the Skyhawks a favour as they shutout the Fort William North Stars 4-0, giving the Skyhawks a chance with a victory Thursday afternoon over the North Stars to move into Friday's semi-final.

The Skyhawks, who lost in quadruple overtime in the longest game in Skyhawks history Wednesday night, needed Georgetown to pull off a victory over Fort William otherwise they would play a meaningless game Thursday afternoon against the Thunder bay area team.

So the 0-2 Skyhawks must win Thursday afternoon as they take on the 1-1 Fort William North Stars at 2:30 p.m.

Game Notes: Skyhawks forward Yves Bastien will be questionable for Thursday's contest. Skyhawks G.M. Guy Blanchard said he sustained an upper body injury in Wednesday's overtime game versus the Buzzers... The Skyhawks played a total of 156 minutes of hockey in only 29 hours.
