Skyhawks leading scorer kicked out of the nest

The North Bay Skyhawks have released the team's leading playoff scorer, Tyler Perry, who registered 9 goals and 8 assists for 17 points in only 9 playoff games for the Skyhawks.

In a press release sent out to the media, the team said the decision was made after Sunday night's loss in Abitibi where the Newmarket native was thrown out after he threw his stick at an official.

"A player cannot think he is better than the team no matter how talented his believes he is," Skyhawks G.M. said in a statement to the media Monday afternoon.

"We've tried to get him to buy into the team's philosophy, but we simply haven't been successful," added Blanchard.

Head Coach Randy Edmonds recognized his talent but also wasn't impressed with the attitude.

"We are not an organization that will accept such behaviour," Edmonds said in the press release.

"This will only make us stronger, we wish Tyler all the best with his future endeavours."

The Skyhawks, without Perry's scoring, will hope to be stronger Tuesday night when they host the Eskimos in Game 5 of the NOJHL Eastern Division Final. Game time is 7 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
