Skyhawks cruise to game two win

In a game very different from Tuesday night, the North Bay Skyhawks defeated the Sudbury Northern Wolves 4-1 in a fight-free contest at McClelland arena in Copper Cliff to take a 2-0 lead in the best of 7 NOJHL Eastern Division semifinal Wednesday night.

David Frawley, fresh off a huge five assist night on Tuesday, scored two goals for the Skyhawks, with singles going to Chase Gallacher and Matt Collins. Chris Abbey made 16 stops to win his second game of the series.

No major penalties were called in the contest after more than 300 penalty minutes were handed out Tuesday night during a bench clearing brawl that forced Referee Kevin Thompson to call the game with 13 seconds left.

Both teams were able to buy back suspensions that were given to players Tuesday night (at a cost of $150.00 per player) and both teams dressed similar lineups by using that option.

Game three takes place Friday night back at Memorial Gardens. Game time is 7 p.m.
