Skaters bring home good results (new)

Twelve North Bay and area figure skaters posted good results at the Octoberfest 2004 competition in Barrie on the weekend capturing three top five placements, and seven top 10 finishes.

This event had over 500 competitors from across Canada participating as well as several international entries.

Ben Koenderink (South River FSC) and partner Michelle Egli (Barrie FSC) won a silver medal in the juvenile pairs event.

Top finishes for the North Bay Figure Skating club were Chad Mathieu who finished just off the podium in the novice men’s event, third after the short program, fourth in the free skate, finishing fourth overall.

Kaitlin Smith (North Bay FSC) was fifth in pre novice ladies flight 5, sixth after the short program, fifth in the free skate ending up fifth overall.
