Primeau tosses three-hitter (new)

Primeau had a no-hitter going until the bottom of the sixth when Nick Gordon singled.

With the win, Bull & Quench are one up in the best of three championship final and they can wrap it up Monday night when the two teams meet, starting at 8:30 p.m. at Veterans Field.

The winners scored twice in the fourth and broke it open with three runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Primeau was at his best in the sixth and the score 2-0. With two runners on and one out, Primeau reached back for that little extra and struck out Sean O’Kane and Brian Finner.

The Rotarians, who are away at a tournament this coming weekend, used four pitchers. Jason Birch handled the duties in the first; Terry Seguin pitched the next two innings, followed by O’Kane, two innings and Nick Gordon, two innings. O’Kane was tagged with the loss.

They allowed six hits and struck out 14 batters.

In the fourth inning, O’Kane walked a pair of batters and they scored on a two-run single to right field by Chris Dowdall.

The winners added three in the seventh on a walk and singles by Primeau, Ken Pagan and Alex Park.

Pagan finished the game with three hits.

The Rotarians twice had runners on second third.

Nick Gordon, Jim Daly and Brian Guy had the hits for Carte Blanche.
