Power Couple Joe and Monique Cormier do it again - Placing Top 5

Joe and Monique Cormier competed in the GNC OPA Gala Championships Saturday November 26th, placing 2nd in Men’s Bodybuilding Grand Masters and 4th in Women’s Physique Masters, qualifying them both for the Ontario Provincials 2017.

Both Joe and Monique work out six days every week to compete in the Ontario Physique Association.

Joe strongly believes that physical activity becomes more enjoyable and less of a struggle, when a person is in shape.

"Joe has competed over ten times in two years and believes that hard work, perseverance, and consistency over time is a true formula to reach your fitness goals no matter what level a person wants to reach. The gratification Joe gets from waking up each day and motivating others to achieve their personal best is what drove him to become a Personal Trainer. He is also using his experience and expertise to teach aspiring young athletes the skills necessary to exceed at what they love to do, " says a news release.

Joe owned and operated three businesses in Radio, Hummer Adventure Touring, and Moving & Storage after retiring from the mines at age thirty-five. He is a Broadcast Engineer by trade, but a Bodybuilder from within. He began bodybuilding when he was eighteen years old, but never competed until he was fifty with the support of his wife, Monique, also known as MOCO.

Joe excelled in bodybuilding, desiring to be one of the largest Grand Masters Competitors.

This weekend he made that dream come true weighing in at 222.2 pounds qualifying him in the Men’s Bodybuilding Super Heavy Weight Division, as he calls it the Gladiators Division. He currently holds 2nd Place in Canadian National Mixed Pairs Championship, alongside his partner and wife, Monique.

Together Joe and Monique branded themselves as MOJO Fitness at GoodLife in North Bay were they both specialize in motivating individuals to achieve their personal goals, whether it be weight loss, optimizing lean body mass, increasing strength and flexibility, or utilizing exercise to reduce life’s daily stresses.
