Powassan Dragons sold to Czech's

The Powassan Dragons Greater Metro Junior 'A' Franchise has been sold to a a group from the Czech Republic, says current owner Lui Ricci.
The Powassan Dragons Greater Metro Junior 'A' Franchise has been sold to a a group from the Czech Republic, says current owner Lui Ricci.

Ricci, who moved the GMHL franchise from Ville-Marie two years ago, will continue to operate the Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks of the same league this upcoming season.

The team will be now known as the Powassan North Stars and Ricci says it will be made up of a mixture of European and North American players.

The Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League has 4 teams in the region including new teams in Mattawa and Temiscaming.
