The North Bay Peewee A Ice Boltz took home 1st place in the Paint it Purple Nepean Girls Hockey Association 40th Annual Tournament this past weekend (Jan 31st-Feb 2nd).

The Ice Boltz began the weekend Friday morning against the host team Nepean Wildcats and skated to a 1-1 tie, the second game on Friday the Ice Boltz faced the Whitby Wolves and after 3 periods of exciting hockey the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

On Saturday, the Ice Boltz faced the Gloucester Cumberland Stars and came out on top with a 4-1 victory after netting an empty-net goal in the dying seconds of the game. This victory earned the Ice Boltz first place after the round-robin games.

Saturday evening the Ice Boltz came out on top in the semi-final game against the Whitby Wolves in a hard fraught 2-1 victory advancing them to the finals against Gloucester Cumberland Stars.

Kylee Perron opened the scoring and then Mylene Langlois gave the Ice Boltz a 2-0 lead before Gloucester battled back and tied the game forcing 3 on 3 overtime.

Early in the overtime period, Avery Robarts scored the winner assisted by Leah Wood to give the Ice Boltz the win.
