Panthers back on Home Court this Weekend with 2SLGBTQ+ Pride Games

The Canadore Panthers varsity teams will be paying tribute to the 2SLGBTQ+ community to promote increased understanding and inclusion for a safer community.

The men’s basketball team will be taking on the Durham Lords on Saturday before battling the Georgian Grizzlies on Sunday. The team is ranked 7th in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) standings in the east division.

The volleyball teams will face off against the Seneca Sting on home court on Saturday as well. The women’s team is ranked 2nd in the OCAA standings in the east division with a 14-3 record. The men are ranked 5th with a 10-7 record. 

Saturday, February 9 – Pride Games                                            

MBB Panthers vs. Durham Lords @ 1 p.m.                          

WVB Panthers vs. Seneca Sting @ 4 p.m.

MVB Panthers vs. Seneca Sting @ 6 p.m.

MBB Panthers vs. Georgian Grizzlies @ 1 p.m.

All games take place in the Education Centre Gym. Admission is free, but as a part of the college’s food insecurity initiative, patrons are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to games to help stock the shelves of the North Bay Food Bank and the Canadore College Emergency Student Food Bank. Game enthusiasts also receive complimentary popcorn.
