Otters nip Skyhawks 4-3 (new)

The Huntsville Muskoka Otters scored three goals in the third period and defeated the North Bay Skyhawks 4-3 in exhibition hockey Friday night at Memorial Gardens.
The Huntsville Muskoka Otters scored three goals in the third period and defeated the North Bay Skyhawks 4-3 in exhibition hockey Friday night at Memorial Gardens.

The Otters, members of the Ontario Junior ‘A’ Hockey League, defeated the Skyhawks 5-2 in Huntsville last week.

The Skyhawks, who are back in action Sunday at the Gardens against Pembroke of the Central Junior Hockey League, made some mistakes in the final 20 minutes and Huntsville took advantage.

Ronny Rogers had two goals for the Otters including the winner.

Chris Gionet, Joel Imbeau and Danny Loach replied for the Skyhawks, defending Northern Ontario Junior Hockey league champs.

Stuart Fricke was in goal for North Bay.

Referee Darren Long called 27 penalties with North Bay taking 14.

Sunday’s game at the Gardens starts at 7 p.m.
