Owen Sound Attack General Manager Dale DeGray announced today that the team have acquired North Bay product Masen Wray from the Niagara Ice Dogs in exchange for the Attack’s 7th Round pick in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.

Originally a 3rd round pick, 49th overall by the then Hamilton Bulldogs (now Brantford) in 2022, the former North Bay AAA Trappers forward split his first three seasons in the league between the Hamilton/Brantford Bulldogs and the Niagara Ice Dogs, tallying 10 goals and 15 assists in 144 Ontario Hockey League games.

Dale DeGray, Attack general manager says Wray, a 6-foot-4-inch, 185-pound centre, will add another big body with a great work ethic to their forward core.

“Masen will bring a great work ethic with tremendous size and ability to our lineup,” said DeGray when asked about the trade in a release.

“He will add to our depth immediately as well as moving forward with the young group we have.  We look forward to seeing Masen in an Attack jersey on Wednesday night.”

Owen Sound Wray connection

Back in the summer of 2024, the Attack named Scott Wray, Masen's father, their new head coach as Scott Wray left his job as an assistant coach with the North Bay Battalion to take over the vacant coaching position in Owen Sound.

Scott Wray was originally selected by the Owen Sound Platers in the fourth round, 55th overall, of the 1996 OHL Priority Selection and played 21 games with them in 1996-97 before joining the North Bay Centennials in the same season.

Currently Wray's Attack sit fourth in the Midwest Division with a record of 8-16-2-3.

Masen Wray will join the Attack practicing with the team on Tuesday ahead of  his first game with the Attack on Wednesday against the Guelph Storm and will wear the number 22.
