North Bay skater to compete at Canadian Figure Skating Championships

The North Bay Figure Skating Club is proud to have Marika Steward represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian Figure Skating Junior Championships in Mississauga January 13 to 20th.


The North Bay Figure Skating Club is proud to have Marika Steward represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian Figure Skating Junior Championships in Mississauga January 13 to 20th.

Marika Steward, of the North Bay Figure Skating Club, placed 5th at the Skate Canada Challenge competition in Regina, Saskatchewan in December which was the qualifying event for the Canadian Championships.

Marika lives and trains in Sendai, Miyagi, Japan where her family presently live.

North Bay is her Canadian home and she has family roots in this community.

Her grandparents live here and she and her family have been involved with the North Bay club for many years.

Local skaters and friends will be cheering her on as she hopes to qualify for the World Junior Championships in March.
