Three North Bay athletes are travelling to Regina, Saskatchewan to compete at the CanoeKayak Canada (CKC) National Championships on August 27 to 31.

Earlier this month, former North Bay Canoe Club athletes Max Hong, Gwyneth Durocher and Sydney Doidge qualified to compete at the National Championships.

Following spring training and early season competition representing North Bay Canoe Club at several regattas including Ontario Team Trials and Canada Cup East in Ottawa, Hong and Durocher transferred to Carleton Place Canoe Club while Doidge transferred to Balmy Beach Canoe Club in Toronto.

This is Hong’s second trip to the National Championships.  Representing North Bay, he competed at the Championships held in Sherbrooke Quebec in 2018.
