Minor Atom AA Trappers snare title in Newmarket

The Trappers defeated the host Newmarket Redmen 5-3 in the Minor Atom AA tournament final.

The North Bay Greco’s Lakeshore Minor Atom AA Trappers captured gold at the 66th annual Newmarket Minor Hockey Association Atom Tournament which wrapped up today. 

The Trappers defeated the host Newmarket Redmen 5-3 in the Minor Atom AA tournament final.  

The Trappers got their by finishing the round robin portion of the event with a 1-1-1 record.  

The Trappers started with a 3-3 tie with the Georgina Blaze Friday night.

On Saturday morning they dumped the Humberview Huskies 6-1 and finished off round robin play with a 3-1 setback against the host Newmarket Redmen. 

Sunday morning the Trappers got to the final courtesy of a convincing 4-0 win over the Barrie Colts.  

“For us as coaches the most exciting part was watching the boys come together as a group and play for each other as friends and teammates sticking to the system,” said Head Coach Marc Long.  

Team members include: Jacob Jutras, Brayden Russell, Grayden Robertson-Palmer (the moose), Cameron Chiasson, Mason Rotondo, Preston Seguin-Hutchison, Noah Dugas, Nick Corbeil, Cameron Popp, Owen Heroux, Jackson Curran, Jackson Culin, Simon Toupin, Max Gelinas, Briir Long, Hudson Prisco-Duquette. Coaches are: Marc Long, Dave Dugas, Scott Curran and Simon Robertson-Palmer.  Manager is Angela Russell.
