It was a busy weekend of action for the two North Bay Trappers teams in the Great North Midget League.

The North Bay AAA Major Midget Trappers hosted GNML rivals, Sudbury Nickel Capital Major Midget Wolves on Saturday night at Memorials Gardens. And, despite having blasted the Wolves in 2 of their 3 previous face-offs, Saturday’s match saw these two teams push evenly toward a 2-1 shoot-out that ended in Sudbury’s favour.

Both teams scored their only goals in the first period where Cole Craft netted North Bay’s lone goal with assistance from Sam Garagan and Hunter Foreshew.

Trappers’ goalie Joel Rainville remained solid between the pipes taking 35 shots.

On Friday, the Major Trappers blasted the New Liskeard Cubs 11-1.  Matt Hardwick led the offence with three goals, while Hunter Foreshew added a pair of tallies.  Singles went to Tye Lindeman, Cole Craft, Ryan Mills, and Nick Wojick.

Meantime, the Minor Trappers fell Sunday afternoon to the Timmins Majors 5-3.  David Campbell had two goals and Joe Jordan added the other goal in the loss. North Bay's Dryden Rivet had a goal for the Majors.

On Saturday, the Minor Trappers got an overtime winner by Pacey Schleuting in a 2-1 win over the Kapuskasing Flyers.  Campbell had the other tally.
