Tyler Peters led the way with 4 goals, bringing him to a league leading total of 40 on the season, including 2 shorthanded markers in the 3rd , both assisted by Steven Leveque on the same shift, to make sure the game was going to stay out of reach. Leveque finished with 2 goals & 2 assists. Other markers went to Matt Buckley , Aaron Dart, Mathew Peterson-Galema, Cooper Cherico, Tyler Kennedy & Jake Staples.

"We were a little sluggish off the start and it took a while to get going, but the boys shook the rust off, even after giving up the first goal," said head coach Mike Reise.

"Not sure if we can mark that up to bus legs or just getting back into the swing of things. However, we got scoring from all three lines today, so that is fantastic. The boys really moved the puck well. They used their defense a lot in the offensive zone, which just added to our offence.

"We haven’t had a lot of ice time over the holidays, so it was good to get back into games. We worked hard this week with both John Couch & Dan Selin running some great skills practices, which will hopefully benefit us as we close out the regular season."

Cole Leon got the win between the pipes.

A busy week lies ahead as the Trappers take on Nickel City Sons at home on Thursday night at West Ferris. The puck drops at 7:20 p.m.

On Saturday, the Timmins Majors are in town , puck drops at 7:20 p.m. at West Ferris and on Sunday, the Trappers play host the Kirkland Lake 87’s.
