Midget AA Trappers golden in Niagara

The championship game saw a rematch against Grundy where the Trappers captured the tournament title with a 5-2 victory.

The North Bay/West Ferris Manchester’s Midget AA Trappers captured gold at the Niagara Falls Presidents Day Tournament held in Niagara Falls, New York during the Family Day weekend. 

The Trappers went undefeated in the round robin portion of the tournament downing the Butler Valley Dawgs (Pennsylvania) 4-2, the Livonia Rangers (Michigan) 5-3 and the Grundy Senators (Pennsylvania) 4-0. 

The championship game saw a rematch against Grundy where the Trappers captured the tournament title with a 5-2 victory.

The coaching staff praised their compete level and willingness to play a solid team game as keys to their success.  

“It says a lot about this group,” said Coach Brad Hubley. 

“That we were able to draw up a new defensive scheme for the last two games and they pulled if off to near perfection. You couldn’t ask for a better way to end our season.”

Team members include: Currie Giesler, Matteo Farella, Zachary Dwyer, Brad Hubley Jr, Ryan Yeo, Kalem Boucher, Caleb Ranger, Mason Boulanger, Connor Winrow, Mitch Laframboise, Marcus White, Nicolas Farelli, Duff Biglow, Adam Kennedy, Sylas Okimaw, Braydon Amyot,  Shkaabewis Tabobondung (AP) and Sean Facette (AP). Head Coach is Brad Hubley, Asst Coaches are David Dwyer, Paul Yeo and Chris Winrow. Trainer is Shane White and Team Manager is Lyle Biglow.
