McMaster the man in OT for Battalion over Wolves

Adam McMaster scored at 2:48 of overtime to lead the North Bay Battalion to a tight 6-5 overtime victory over the Sudbury Wolves.

Adam McMaster scored at 2:48 of overtime to lead the North Bay Battalion to a tight 6-5 overtime victory over the Sudbury Wolves.   

Daniil Vertiy led the Battalion attack as he scored two goals and added one assist in the road victory which is the first of eight meetings between the northern rivals. 

Kyle Potts also finished with three points on one goal and two helpers.  The improving Justin Brazeau chipped in as well with a goal and an assist.  

Brett Hargrave had the other goal for the Troops.  

Battalion rookie netminder Julian Sime made 28 saves for his first OHL victory.   

The Battalion started off strong building a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.  

However, the Wolves stormed back in the middle frame outscoring the visitors 3-1 to make it 4-4 after 40 minutes which included a pair of goals by Russian sniper Dmitry Sokolov.  

David Levin added a pair for the Wolves.  

After Potts gave the Troops a 5-4 lead at 10:03 of the third period, Reagan O’Grady netted the equalizer for the Wolves at 17:54.  

The Troops are off until next Thursday
