Gary Mantz scored three times to propel the Powassan Voodoos to a convincing 6-1 win over the Espanola Express at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex on Friday night.

Mantz reached the 30 goal mark with his three goals, while fellow Voodoos sniper Andy Baker hit the 40-goal plateau with a third period tally.

Tyler Gervais-Rolfe and Parker Bowman had the other goals for the Voodoos.

Nate McDonald made 34 saves in the victory which brings the Voodoos (39-7-1-1) to the 80 point mark and moves their magic number to four to clinch first overall in the 12-team NOJHL.

Riley Smith had the lone goal for the Express while Logan Sawka made 49 saves for the home side.

The two teams will once again clash tomorrow night in Powassan.  Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Powassan Sportsplex.
