The North Bay Major Midget AAA Trappers opened up the Great North Midget League season with a bang with a pair of wins over the New Liskeard Cubs on the weekend.

The Trappers knocked off the Cubs 5-2 on Saturday and blanked New Liskeard 8-0 on Friday night.

Nick Davis, a Battalion 2017 fifth round midget pick, scored twice for the Trappers, with singles going to Nick Hahkala, Hunter Foreshew, and Ryan Mills.

On Friday Nick Davis and Ethan Allair led the way again with two goals each in the 8-0 victory.  Zach Lefebvre, Ian Denomme, Nick Hahkala, and Tye Lindeman added singles.

The North Bay Minor Midget AAA Trappers have yet to play their first ever Great North Midget League game as they were competing at the Toronto Red Wings Tournament over the weekend.
