Minor Peewee's shine in Timmins

It was a successful weekend in Timmins for the Greco’s Lakeshore Minor Peewee AAA Trappers as they took two of three games against the North Stars. Short shifts and smart passing led the Trappers to a 5-1 win against the North Stars for the first time since their Minor Atom year. Briir Long had two goals in the win while Andre Mondoux, Owen Head and Jacob Jutras each with a goal a piece. Jackson Curran was solid in net for the win.

Game two saw the Trappers maintain their stride for the first period but ran into some penalty trouble early in the second. The Trappers gave up a 4-2 lead to eventually fall 5-4 after playing much of the last half of the game shorthanded. Grayden Robertson-Palmer, Owen Head, Simon Toupin and Andre Mondoux scored in the match up.

It was back to basics Sunday morning as the team stuck to the game plan showing patience and determination to come away with a 1-0 win in a tight battle. Nick Corbeil scored what proved to be the game winner and Jackson Curran was stellar between the pipes for the shutout which included a penalty shot.

The team would also like to thank the Timmins North Stars for being great hosts and for the respect shown to our Veterans during Sunday’s Remembrance Day game.
