Major AAA Midget Trappers sweep through the north

The North Bay & District Major Midget AAA Trappers came home with six points as they won three times during a northern weekend road trip to Timmins and Kapuskasing.  

On Friday, the Trappers blasted the Timmins Majors 8-3.

Nick Davis scored twice to lead the Trappers while singles went to Kobe Seguin, Nick Hahkala, Cole Craft, Hunter Foreshew, Zach Lefebvre, and Bailey Chenier. 

Meantime on Saturday, the Trappers travelled to Kapuskasing to take on the Flyers.  Zach Lefebvre had two goals and other contributors were Nick Davis, Bailey Chenier and Cole Craft in a 5-3 win.  

The Trappers completed the weekend sweep with a 5-1 victory over the Flyers.  Matt Hardwick, Nick Davis, Bailey Chenier, Cole Craft and Nick Hahkala.  

The wins improve the Trappers record to 5-0-0-1 on the season.  

Meantime, the Minor Midget Trappers earned a split in a pair of games against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.  

On Saturday they faced a 6-3 setback at the hands of the Hounds.  Eric Lafontaine scored twice in the setback.  

On Sunday the Minor Midget Trappers rebounded with a 2-1 overtime win.  Joe Jordan was the OT hero as he netted the game-winner at 2:27 of the extra session.  David Campbell had the only Trappers goal in regulation.

The Trappers move to 2-2 early in the Great North Midget League season.
