The Lumberjacks had a very tough weekend dropping two straight games to the powerful Temiscaming Titans and Almaguin Spartans, two of the GMHL’s top teams.

The Jacks on Friday night lost to the Titans by a score of 7-2, and followed it up with a 6-2  against the Spartans on Saturday in South River.

Lumberjacks head coach Lui Ricci says despite the score Friday night, he felt the game was close.

“In South River we had no jump no fire, and the boys know it, our team has made tremendous strides in the past 3 weeks and they are probably more mad at themselves then anything, we need to be much better in our own zone, our only bright spot tonight was Ted Bunting, he made the saves he should have made, The boys need to regroup for next weekend as we expect the 4 points I have tremendous faith in this group they have tremendous character,” he said.

The Lumberjacks will be having an Epilepsy awareness game on December 12th as the team will be wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned off with proceeds of the jerseys and 50% of ticket sales going towards helping a local resident fighting the disease.
